‘Jackie Gasson is committed to the investigation of ceramic bodies, glazes, colours and raw materials to produce a broad range of ceramics. She uses both traditional and contemporary methods of firing wood, salt and soda kilns, with an emphasis on the effects of their use on the local community and the environment as a whole. She continues to research the use of combustible materials, not just as artistic tools, but for their value as stimuli to the student and purchasing public alike.

Jackie is a renowned presenter of workshops around Australia, who inspires those attending her seminars and encourages experimentation in all facets of ceramics. Her ability to impart her knowledge to others manages to inspire them to extend themselves in the broader art of ceramics – with much greater knowledge and confidence!

Very few practitioners have enough experience across all types of firing to run workshops teaching others, including OH&S requirements.’
