The GumnutS | From Monaro to the Coast
The Gumnuts is a collective of enthusiastic artists who meet regularly at Strathnairn to paint in a supportive atmosphere. By meeting at Strathnairn they are able to focus totally on their work without day-to-day interruptions. The group meets each Tuesday and their work is not only enhanced by the sharing of skills and knowledge but also progressed by occasional guest tutors to inspire and develop their artistic skills. There are currently 30 members of the Strathnairn Gumnuts.
Many of the artists have had work accepted in regional and national exhibitions and are well known in the Canberra area.
This exhibition features works which have been inspired by the sparseness of the landscape afflicted by die-back in and around Cooma and the changes from there to the bounty of the Australian coast.
