“Space Between” is a creative conversation between Wendy Teakel and David Jensz; two artists with unique approaches to sculpture. Wendy’s practice often questions relationships between cultural and natural spaces with particular reference between rural and landscape settings. David usually shapes unexpected readymades exploring interconnections between energy and matter through an interest in geometry and physics. Here the artists form their conversation around objects of mutual attraction; stones. Stones convey time, location, geology and endurance. A stone, once selected, can speak to our humanness as first tool (or even weapon) but here the artists draw attention to how we imbue these solitary natural things with significance through metaphor and context.
