THINKING ABOUT LANDSCAPES | LANI SHEA-AN
Gallery 2 | 1 - 26 June2022
This exhibition is a selection of recent paintings by Lani Shea-An. These artworks explore the broad theme of nature through combining abstract and figurative painting methods, as well as found materials, and depict both real and imagined places. The works reference a range of different landscapes that humans find aesthetically pleasing, from wilderness to manicured suburban gardens.
Lani Shea-An is a Canberra-based emerging artist and holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Hons) from the ANU School of Art & Design.
She has exhibited in group and solo shows in Canberra, Sydney, Braidwood and Kyoto, and has work held in private collections in Australia and the UK.
The foundation of her studio practice is the selection of used materials. These are collaged and painted to draw attention to their formal qualities and their reflection of our environment, both natural and human-made.
