LILY SHARROCK | CREATIVITY ON WHEELS

Gallery 2 | 3 - 20 December 2020

Opening hours: Thursday to Sunday 10am to 4pm.

Strathnairn Arts is delighted to host the first exhibition of Lily Sharrock, one of the 2019 recipients of the Audrey Fagan Young Woman’s Enrichment Grant.

Lily Sharrock wants to share her joy in creativity with friends, family and the wider community with her exhibition entitled ‘Creativity on Wheels’.

The collection of digitally designed and printed work in the exhibition reflects Lily’s free wheeling spirit of play and experimentation. Her dedication to her digital art practice is evidenced by her growing level of skill, which is both hard won and considerable due to the freedom of movement challenges brought about by her disability.

Lily finds inspiration through nature, music, life experiences and the world around her and this is demonstrated through her digital works in her first exhibition ‘Creativity on Wheels’.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

16-year old Lily Sharrock from Scullin is a bright, creative and positive young woman who rarely lets her severe cerebral palsy stand in her way of loving life. She has been interested in art from an early age and has been deepening her skills and developing her own techniques with the digital art program ‘ArtRage.’

With a quick wit and a love of books and films, Lily is known for her infectious smile and positivity. Lily is currently finishing Year 10 at Kingsford Smith High School.

She is particularly looking forward to connecting with new and old friends at Hawker College next year and immersing herself in the art classes while continuing to build her independence.
