Energetic, gestural and expressive, Ashley Cullen’s solo exhibition explores the messy aspects of being human. In this new collection of work, Cullen’s vivid use of colour and swift brushwork blends together to examine the tenuous dynamics between composure, control and unrestrained emotion. At its core, God’s Loose Tooth navigates intuitive forces that govern us beyond rational thought.

Originally from the UK, Ashley Cullen moved to Canberra to pursue her love of art at the Australian National University. Her portraits chart an intensely personal vision of the human experience, capturing people at their most raw and vulnerable moments.
