Meagan Kopatz spent hours as a child watching her grandmother paint, never thinking she could do the same. Decades later, Kopatz decided to teach herself how to paint - creating a joyful connection back to grandmother. The Gift She Gave is an exploration in watercolours and acrylics of this process.

Meagan Kopatz is a Canberra-based artist and the author of The Boy and The Sea (Mevach Press, 2019).
